Vietnam. Saigon. Ho Chi Minh City. Visit of the President of the French Institute, Xavier Darcos, accompanied by the French Ambassador to Vietnam, Jean - Noël Poirier, to the Reunification Palace Museum as part of the closing of the French Year in Vietnam. The site was, during the time of General Nguyen Van Thieu, before the communist victory of 1975, the Independence Palace, rebuilt on the site of the former Norodom Palace according to the plans of the architect Ngo Viet Thu, the first Vietnamese winner of the Prix de Rome.
