Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City. Uncle's Ho house by artist Tran Van Lam. The Museum of Fine Arts. Here, an oil on canvas by Luu Cong Nhan: "White reed". Designed by the French architect Rivera in 1929 in a building blending colonial and Asian architectural styles, and later constructed in 1934 as the original home and headquarters of the Chinese company Hua Bon Hoa, this Museum of Fine Arts presents both historical and contemporary works by Vietnamese artists. It notably features an exceptional collection of paintings and drawings related to the Indochina War against the French, and later to the war against the Americans.
