France. Pont - Aven or the city of painters! The Museum brings together some 200 paintings and works on paper from the famous "School of Pont - Aven" including many works by Paul Gauguin, Emile Bernard, Paul Sérusier or Maurice Denis. Here: In 1901, the painter Pierre Girieud discovered Gauguin's innovative vision of painting through his friend Durrio. In 1902, he followed in the artist's footsteps in Brittany. This work depicts Gauguin, within a composition inspired by the Last Supper, in which the artist shares a meal with his disciples, from left to right: Pierre Girieud, Roderic O’Conor, George - Daniel de Monfreid, Paul Sérusier, Paco Durrio, Gustave Fayet, Maurice Denis, Charles Morice, Georges Dufrenoy, and Raoul de Mathan.
