France. Val d'Oise. L'abbaye cistercienne de Royaumont fondee par Saint Louis et sa mere Blanche de Castille en 1228. Et premiere fondation culturelle francaise creee en 1964. Le site a ete successivement monastere, abbaye de cour, site industriel, noviciat, hopital lors de la Premiere Guerre Mondiale, residence de campagne, et aujourd'hui residences d'artistes et lieu de concerts. Ici, une des galeries du cloitre.

France. Val d'Oise. The Cistercian abbey of Royaumont, founded by Saint Louis and his mother Blanche of Castile in 1228. And the first French cultural foundation, created in 1964. The site has been successively a monastery, a court abbey, an industrial site, a novitiate, a hospital during the First World War, a country residence, and today artists' residences and a concert place.
