La Cite de la Mer, lieu consacre a l’exploration des oceans et a la technologie sous-marine, propose la visite guidee du premier sous-marin nucleaire lanceur d'engins francais mis a l'eau en 1971, Le Redoutable, qui transportait 16 missiles et embarquait 135 sous-mariniers. Au cœur de cette arche rappelant une demi-coque d’un sous-marin, on decouvre les notions indispensables a la comprehension du monde sous-marin : le principe d’Archimede, l’assiette d’un sous-marin, la discretion acoustique, etc. Mais aussi tous les sons et les bruits emis dans l'Ocean. The Cité de la Mer, a place dedicated to ocean exploration and underwater technology, offers guided tours of the first French nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine launched in 1971, Le Redoutable, which carried 16 missiles and embarked 135 submariners. At the heart of this arch, reminiscent of half a submarine hull, we discover the essential concepts for understanding the underwater world: Archimedes' principle, the trim of a submarine, acoustic discretion, etc. But also all the sounds ans noise emitted in the ocean.
