Part of an album with 80 pages of drawings and a print of veneered and lacquered furniture, as well as seating., inscription: '2397 Commode secretaire', Paris (possibly), c. 1825 - c. 1839, draftsman (artist), paint (coating), materials by function, paper, ink, watercolor (paint), pencil, pen, brush, gray pen with colored brush, numbers written in pencil, partially cut out and pasted onto the album page, height 240 mm, width 310 mm, writing-table, writing-desk, cupboard (wood and other phytogenic material), A painted depiction of the upper portion of a wooden chest of drawers with a fold-down writing surface lined with a teal green leather pad that has a decorative gold-embossed motif and a gold border, flanked by two hinged wooden panels with brass corner fittings, small inset drawers on each side above the writing surface, and a gray stone-like top slab; the visible wooden case shows a warm reddish-brown grain with paneled fronts, simple molding at the base, and small keyhole escutcheons.
