Part of an album with 80 pages of drawings and a print of veneered and lacquered furniture, as well as seating., Paris (possibly), c. 1825 - c. 1839, draftsman (artist), paint (coating), materials by function, paper, ink, watercolor (paint), pencil, pen, brush, pen in grey with brush in colours, numbers written in pencil, height 240 mm, width 310 mm, kneeling-chair, furniture for special use (wood and other phytogenic material), Two wooden chair backs with ornate carved panels are shown side by side on a light background. Each back features a flat rectangular top rail above an arched central panel containing scrollwork and a cross-shaped motif, with vertical stiles on either side. The left chair back has a more elaborate foliate carving filling the arch and a symmetrical scroll cluster at the base of the arch. The right chair back shows column-like side posts with fluted detailing and a carved apron beneath the arch that echoes the scroll motif. Both chairs rest on curved wooden rails that sweep down to squared corner blocks and turned, fluted legs with rounded finials, rendered in warm reddish-brown and pale beige tones. The image shows faint pencil marks and light smudges on the background.
