The figure is rendered with fine, crosshatched lines and appears in front of a heavily shaded, arch-like backdrop formed by dense etching strokes. The man's head bears a band or cap and his facial features are sketched with delicate lines. The surrounding area includes textured shading and sketchy lines suggesting rough surfaces and a framed border at the image edges.
