The description is, 1609., Sloth, Indolence, 'Acedia', 'Desidia', 'Accidia' (Ripa), personification of one of the Seven Deadly Sins, A black and white engraved figure stands on a textured ground with flowing lines, draped in layered robes that wrap around the shoulders and body with visible folds and shading, one arm crossed over the chest and the other hand resting near the waist; the figure has long curly hair falling to the shoulders, a neutral facial expression, bare feet visible beneath the hem of the garments, and the overall composition shows fine linework and hatching creating depth and fabric texture.
