French soldiers carry the pieces into the Binnenhof for transfer to the States General, March 12, 1795., printmaker: Reinier Vinkeles (I), Amsterdam, in or before 1803, paper, etching, engraving, height 240 mm x width 159 mm, A detailed black and white engraving shows a group of uniformed soldiers marching through an ornate interior with tall decorated walls and high ceilings. The soldiers wear bicorn hats with plumes and double-breasted coats with sashes at the waist; some carry long staffs or rifles and others handle a small wheeled cannon. Their poses vary as they march in formation, with visible facial hair and stern expressions. Behind them are decorative architectural elements including framed panels, fluted columns with ornate capitals, moulded cornices, and a tall narrow banner on a pole. The floor shows fine parallel lines suggesting texture, and the image is rendered with dense crosshatching and fine linework throughout.
