Volume XXVI., Person, Johannes Sartorius, A detailed engraved portrait of an older man with a full beard and mustache wearing a soft cap and a heavy draped robe is set inside a large oval frame; the man's eyes look slightly to one side and his facial features and textured hair are rendered with fine crosshatching, while the surrounding oval and rectangular architectural plinth beneath it are filled with parallel lines and ornamental recessed panels.
