Amsterdam: Johannes Allart, 1786-1809., Person, Cornelis Johan de Lange van Wijngaarden, A framed engraved portrait of an older man with a powdered wig, visible from the chest up, wearing a coat with a high collar and three prominent round buttons and a ruffled cravat at the neck; the face shows a calm expression with detailed shading around the eyes, nose, and mouth. The portrait sits within an ornate rectangular frame with patterned inner molding and a textured background behind the figure. Below the frame is a sculpted pedestal with layered horizontal ledges and an inset oval panel, all rendered with fine crosshatching and line work.
