The frame sits against a textured wall with rectilinear stone blocks and a draped cloth hanging from the upper right corner that folds and cascades down the side. Below the framed portrait a ledge or plinth with molded edges and a recessed oval panel is visible, and fine crosshatching and line work create shadowing and surface texture across the entire composition.
