Amsterdam: Johannes Allart, 1788-1789., Person, Pieter van Bleiswijk, An engraved portrait of an older man with curled hair and a high forehead set inside an ornate rectangular frame, the man shown from the shoulders up wearing a dark coat and a light cravat, his face turned slightly and showing a composed expression; the framed portrait is mounted against a textured background of crosshatched lines and geometric paneling, with a draped cloth falling to the left and partially covering a ledge beneath the frame; on the ledge lie a rolled document and a flat sheet with two round seals attached, and to the right an ornamental curved object rests against the ledge, all rendered in fine parallel and crosshatch engraving strokes.
