On this page the legend to the central map, in French., printmaker, writer (clerical worker), France, Charles Delorme, paper, engraving, height 575 mm x width 162 mm, Ile de Ré, Period, 1627, A tall vertical sheet with a decorative border contains a centered title in large capital letters at the top followed by several lines of smaller handwritten text in neat cursive, organized into short numbered entries aligned down the center; the paper shows faint age marks and a narrow margin on the left, and ornate scrollwork flourishes appear at the bottom corners framing the lower portion of the page.
