Piranesi was assisted for this series by various assistants from his workshop, including his son Francesco, who also added 8 plates to the series in 1779-1780., chair, A vertical engravings-style illustration of an ornate chair or throne fragment showing a curved back with paneling at the top, two vertical supports extending downward from the backrest, and a wide horizontal rail above a decorative block. The central block features carved acanthus leaves and floral motifs flanked by two stylized vertical elements that resemble carved animal forms. Below this is a structured pedestal with carved foliage decorations, textured panels, and a recessed central opening with a scaled pattern. Further down is a rectangular molded base with a carved relief panel depicting draped textile or cushion-like forms and supporting feet beneath. The image is rendered in fine line work with shading, and there is handwritten script visible along the bottom edge of the page.
