One woman stands at the left with a flowing robe and an arm raised holding a bundle of thin sticks, her other hand supporting a seated, bent figure whose head is tilted forward and hair is being held by another woman seated behind a low structure. To the right a partly draped woman reclines on cushioned folds, reaching toward a flat object held by the seated woman, while another woman leans over her shoulder. Architectural elements including a column and layered draperies form the background and a hint of landscape appears at the far left; shading and textured lines define fabric folds, bodies, and stone surfaces.
