Numbered lower left: 2 and 3., printmaker: Master of the Dice, after design by Michiel Coxie (I), c. 1530 - c. 1560, Master of the Dice, Michiel Coxie (I), printmaker, after design by, paper, engraving, intaglio printmaking technique, engraving with plate tone, height 199 mm x width 227 mm, A finely detailed pen-and-ink scene shows a raised platform with draped fabric as a backdrop and two seated figures wearing robes and crowns facing each other, the seated left figure with a softer profile and folded hands and the seated right figure with a beard and an outstretched arm; standing figures in flowing garments approach and flank the platform, some looking toward the seated pair and others turned slightly away, one standing figure on the left partially behind a columned architectural feature with layered moldings, carved steps leading up to the platform, and a tiled floor in the foreground with decorative borders at the lower edge.
