In the middle-ground a group of figures in classical drapery stand and sit on rocks and a path beneath the trees; some hold staffs and one wears a helmet and carries a long spear, while others gesture or play a small stringed instrument. The sky is lightly sketched with horizontal strokes and faint clouds, and the scene is rendered with fine pen lines and wash shading.
