These prints were published in two volumes from 1777 onwards, assembling, 'départ pour la chasse', sea (seascape), landscape with ruins - II - ideal landscapes, coast - HH - ideal landscapes, Dido and Aeneas departing for the hunt, North Africa, Carthage, A sepia-toned drawing depicting a riverside scene with classical architecture and groups of people; on the right a large colonnaded structure with ornate capitals and a high entablature stands beside trees and an arched gateway, while figures in long robes and helmets gather and converse in front of the steps, some accompanied by a dog and soldiers with spears; to the left a domed temple sits near the water where several sailing and rowboats are afloat and small boats approach the shore, with distant towers and shoreline visible on the horizon; leafy trees frame the left and right edges, and small birds are scattered across the pale sky.
