These prints were published in two volumes from 1777 onwards., palace, city-view, and landscape with man-made constructions - II - ideal landscapes, Esther on her way to King Ahasuerus, A sepia-toned landscape drawing showing a terrace scene in the foreground with a group of people dressed in flowing classical garments, some standing, some bending, and a man walking with a small dog; the terrace has a balustrade topped with decorative urns and panels with carved designs. To the right a large architectural facade with a carved statue in a niche and a tall arched doorway stands above broad steps. In the middle distance a classical temple with columns sits below a massive multi-domed palace complex set on a cliff, with a tall tower nearby and trees and shrubs on the slopes. On the left a large leafy tree frames the view over a river with a stone bridge and distant low hills, while birds fly in a cloudy sky above. The drawing is rendered in fine pen lines and washes with detailed hatching and tonal shading.
