These prints were published in two volumes from 1777 onwards., harbour, landscape with tower or castle, (story of) Ulysses, ships (in general) (getting in, mounting, embarkation), landscapes with waters, waterscapes, seascapes (in the temperate zone) - HH - ideal landscapes, A sepia-toned harbor scene showing a shoreline with groups of people standing and sitting near small rowboats, a few figures in the foreground interacting with a dog, and several people seated on the ground or on boats; multiple sailing ships with tall masts and rigging float in the water, with one large ship near the center and others nearer the edges; on the right a classical building with tall fluted columns and steps faces the water where more boats are moored and figures stand on the quay; on the left a fortified tower and adjoining stone buildings extend to the water’s edge with rigged vessels nearby; the sky is filled with soft clouds and a few birds in flight, and the overall image is rendered in fine line work and washes giving a textured, drawn appearance.
