This weigh house stood on the Butter Market, the current Rembrandtplein, and was located in the former Third Reguliers Gate. The other prints have remained unchanged., square, circus, etc. (city(-scape) with figures, staffage), weigh-house, Amsterdam, Botermarkt (Amsterdam), Boterwaag (Amsterdam), Regulierswaag, Waag op de Botermarkt, A large classical building with a triangular pediment and columns stands at the center, its façade showing an arched central entrance flanked by tall rectangular windows and arched side doors; decorative relief carving is visible within the pediment and a canopy projects above the main entrance where figures and stacked goods appear inside. In front of the building, barrels, bales, and crates are arranged on the ground while people stand, walk, and work around them; a horse pulls a sled loaded with goods and figures attend to it. To the left, rows of multi-story houses with pitched roofs and chimneys line the square, and a few lampposts and smaller structures are scattered near the buildings.
