Print is part of an album., printmaker, after design by, paper, woodcut, letterpress printing, woodcut with text in letterpress, height 308 mm x width 201 mm, nursing, suckling, pedestal of a piece of sculpture (perhaps in the form of a herm), Herm: pillar with the head of Mercury, patron of travelers, herms (garden ornaments), A vertical engraved illustration of a sculptural figure with an ornate architectural capital balanced on its head, showing carved decorative patterns and a small human face in the capital; below the capital a standing robed female figure faces forward with a head covering and a draped garment, holding up a swath of fabric from which three putti emerge and cling, one on each side and one centered and standing lower with arms outstretched; the drapery ends in a scalloped hem with hanging tassels; beneath the figure a carved column-like support features decorative foliage and a lion's head motif, resting on a rectangular base beside a small lizard-like creature lying on the base.
