In the foreground there are groups of adults and children, some holding hands and dancing, some standing and conversing, and a few seated figures, with a small dog near two central figures. A large fishing net or woven barrier is stretched across part of the scene, with several figures leaning on or working around it and cherubic putti climbing or perched on it. To the right a man gestures toward a seated woman, while nearby a procession of people and a figure carrying a staff stand under a tall tree. Further right, a skeletal figure stands near a raised stone slab holding human heads, and an overturned shield and skulls lie on the ground. In the middle distance there are more small groups of people, a horse-drawn carriage on a road, and small buildings including houses and a church-like structure with a steeple, with two windmills visible further back. Trees with bare and leafy branches frame the scene on left and right, and a ribbon held by a flying putto appears in the sky above. The sky is filled with finely hatched cloud textures.
