Brussels: Francois Foppens, 1720., town hall, Groningen (city), A detailed pen-and-ink illustration of a large church with a tall multi-staged tower on the left and a long nave extending to the right, showing many tall arched windows and buttresses; the tower has successive tiers with arched openings and a decorative finial at the top, and the nave roof is rendered with parallel hatching lines and small roof ornaments; small clustered buildings and doorways are attached to the church’s lower side, and tiny groups of people are scattered around the foreground near the entrances and along the street; horse-drawn carts and a few horses appear near the left side, and small flocks of birds are depicted in the sky above soft, lightly sketched clouds.
