Behind the bank runs a tree-lined road with a horse-drawn cart traveling and people walking and standing; an arched footbridge crosses a canal at one side. A row of tall trees forms a screen behind the road, revealing a stately building with a symmetrical façade and decorative roof partially visible between the trunks, flanked by smaller structures and gates. Paths and a stepped terrace lead inward from the central building toward a formal garden or avenue, with walls, railings, and garden urns visible. The sky above is filled with large, horizontally hatched clouds. The whole image is rendered in closely hatched monochrome engraving.
