This series consisted of prints of: Spijk, Nieuwland, Heukelum (3x), Ensapijk, Leerdam, Deil, Gellicum, Asperen, Acquoy and Craijenstein (near Tricht). Later, these prints were used in: Gezigten van voornaame Hollandsche dorpen. Amsterdam: Evert Maaskamp, ca. 1775-1800., landscape with tower or castle, castle, Tricht, A detailed sepia-toned engraving shows a riverside scene with a large stepped-gable building rising from the water at center, its tiled roof and brick façade rendered with fine crosshatching and a small turret topped by a flag. A wooden bridge and sluice structure span the water beside the building, reflected in the calm river. Trees with dense foliage frame both sides of the composition, their branches and leaves depicted with intricate line work. Smaller houses and architectural fragments appear among the trees on the left and in the background, and a gated archway stands at right near a path. Figures in period dress are visible along the riverbank and near the buildings, some standing and some seated. The sky is filled with layered, textured clouds created by parallel and curved etching lines.
