Amsterdam: Hendrik Bosch, 1721., fortress, Leiden, Burcht van Leiden, An engraved scene showing a large stone fortress wall with battlements and roofed structures along its top, adjacent to a curved bridge with arched openings and a stairway, figures in period clothing walking and standing on the bridge and near the arches, two figures leaning over a parapet looking into a darkened archway, clustered trees and foliage at the base of the wall, a textured sky rendered with fine horizontal lines, and a decorative cartouche partially visible at the lower edge.
