The other prints in this series are, as indicated on the title page, by Jan van Call (I)., canals, waters (in city), city-view, and landscape with man-made constructions, bridge, The Hague, Voorhout, A sepia-toned etching of a riverside street scene showing a row of tall, narrow buildings with many windows and pitched roofs extending along the right side, ornate pediments and chimneys on some roofs, a series of steps and stoops leading down to the street, and a canal with a bridge in the background. On the left a wooden beam structure with hanging chains and rings projects over the water, nearby trees line the canal, and a lamppost stands at the water’s edge. Figures in period clothing walk and stand on the street and bridge, some in small groups and some accompanied by animals, while a person nearer the foreground bends down beside a small dog. The sky above is filled with layered, textured clouds rendered with fine lines.
