In the foreground a group of stags and does rest and stand on grassy ground near the water's edge. Two figures walk together on a path near the buildings while a horse-drawn carriage moves along a road to the left and two riders on horseback proceed near the right side of the central building. Lamp posts and low shrubs line the paths, and an arched colonnade connects some of the structures. Rolling hills and two large conical mountains rise behind the buildings beneath a sky filled with soft, drifting clouds.
