Decorative elements include sculpted cherubic figures at each end of the bier, each holding clusters of round fruits, and stylized serpent or animal heads forming the feet and corners of the base. The fabric of the garments is shown with fine linear shading and folds, and the cushion beneath them has patterned bands. The background is plain and unadorned, and the overall image is rendered with detailed crosshatching and fine line work.
