On the left a seated older man wears a crown and flowing robes, his hair and beard long, and he holds a scepter; behind him is an ornate carved throne. Next to him a seated man in a fur-lined robe and a tall hat gestures with one hand while the other rests on his knee. In front of them a standing young man with a cloak and shoulder-length hair reaches toward the seated man, his other hand held out. To the right a woman in a long dress and head covering stands near a bed with a blanket, extending one hand toward the young man and the other toward the bed. Architectural details, including columns, a distant building visible through an opening, and a checkerboard floor, fill the background.
