Volumes one and two appeared in 1612. The third volume appeared in 1615 and volume four appeared in 1628. In 1637, Vitale Mascardi published the first reissue of the entire set with numbering., temple, shrine, Roman religion, Quirinal, A detailed architectural engraving of a classical temple façade with a wide flight of steps leading up to a raised platform, a central doorway flanked by tall columns with ornate capitals, recessed rectangular panels between the columns, smaller doorways or niches on either side, a triangular pediment above decorated with fine stippling and linear shading, balustrade-like cornices and moldings, spherical finials atop plinths at the outer corners, and a block of dense printed text along the bottom edge; the image is rendered in fine lines and dots with monochrome ink on a light background.
