At the center a crowned man in a cloak reaches up to touch an animal hide hanging from a branch while a smaller figure in the tree leans down toward the hide. Armored soldiers with helmets, shields, and spears stand in formation behind and beside them, some facing forward and some in profile. To the right a line of architectural elements including columns and a ledge with sculpted figures forms a backdrop, and a bird sculpture perched on a decorative staff is visible near the top of the columns. Several men in varied armor and garments stand near the columns, one holding a staff topped with spherical ornaments and another blowing a trumpet. The foreground shows undulating ground texture leading up to the tree, and dense trees and vertical spears or poles fill the left background. Faces, clothing folds, and engraved linework create fine detail throughout the scene.
