At the top of the tree sits a seated woman holding a child, both surrounded by radiating lines. Around the branches float numerous seated figures on small cloudlike platforms, each wearing crowns and holding scepters or staffs, with varied beards and hairstyles and gestures of raised hands or folded arms. Near the base of the tree a reclining bearded man rests on a mound with one arm supporting his head and the other across his chest, wearing draped clothing and a cloak. The entire scene is rendered in dense black linework with crosshatching and repeated ornamental leaf motifs filling the spaces between figures and branches.
