The child sits on her lap, nude, with a rounded face and curly hair, one arm raised toward the head and the other resting on the woman's arm, legs dangling over the edge. A bearded man on the right leans in, holding a long staff with a hooked top and looking toward the child; his draped robe gathers around his seated form and one hand rests on his knee. Textured shading and fine lines define the folds of cloth, the stonework beneath them, and small plants growing at the base of the wall.
