It is not always clear whether the pasticci were made by him or by his studio. Not all pasticci have survived., Christ and the woman of Samaria: sitting at Jacob's well he asks her for a drink from her jug, A detailed monochrome engraving shows a group of people gathered around a circular stone well in a pastoral landscape. In the foreground a woman stands with one hand holding a bucket and the other resting on the well rim, her draped garments falling to her bare feet. To her left an older man leans toward her, resting a hand on the well and looking at the group. A seated man in robes faces slightly toward the viewer while gesturing with one hand, and three other standing men in robes converse nearby, two facing each other and one looking outward. Behind them a gently rolling terrain extends toward distant hills, with a large tree at the left edge whose branches spread upward. The middle ground contains winding paths and clustered buildings that rise into a fortified hilltop town with towers and walls. The sky above is filled with finely hatched clouds and sweeping line work. Dec
