This print is part of an album., printmaker: Lucas Vorsterman (II), Antwerp, after painting by Guido Reni, Italy, publisher: David Teniers (II), Brussels, grantor of privilege: Spanish crown, 1660, paper, etching, height 113 mm x width 82 mm, The print was produced after the painting by Reni which is in the collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna (inventory number GG_243). David Teniers probably produced an oil study on canvas or panel (so-called pasticcio) of every painting in the collection of Leopold William of Austria, which served as models for the printmakers. It is not always clear whether the pasticci were made by him or by his studio. Not all pasticci have survived., repentance of Peter, An aged paper sheet with two engraved portrait panels separated by blank space, the left panel showing a young bare-shouldered figure with long wavy hair turned in profile toward the right under a softly lined clouded background, and the right panel depicting an older bearded man wearing a rounded halo and a draped cloak, his head tilted and resting on his gloved hand, both engravings rendered in fine cross-hatching and surrounded by narrow borders.
