It is not always clear whether the pasticci were made by him or by his workshop. Two young children are close to her; one child stands and embraces the other who is leaning forward across the woman's lap. An elderly figure with a wrapped head covering and layered robes sits to the woman's side holding a book and looking toward the children. A small lamb lies on the ground in front of the group. Behind them is a textured backdrop of dense foliage and sky formed by fine lines, and the scene is framed by a narrow border.
