Outside, a young person in loose clothing reaches forward offering a small object toward an older seated man who wears flowing robes, a wide-brimmed hat, and a sash, and who rests one hand on a small drum set on a stand. Surrounding the scene are stylized trees and shrubs, a walled terrace with stone-patterned facings, distant foliage and a small building on a hill, and birds flying in the sky. The foreground includes textured plants and rocks framing the lower edge of the image.
