Numbered 7. in the center bottom, inscription: '66', printmaker: Jean Toutin, Châteaudun, 1619, paper, engraving, paste, pasted on album page, height 103 mm x width 79 mm, ornaments, art, fighting contest (sport), rodents: squirrel, A vertical page showing ink illustrations on aged paper with ornamental black designs and human figures; near the top center a large symmetrical ornamental motif with rounded and curving shapes sits above a small acorn-like pendant, flanked at left and right by decorative floral sprigs and two men leaning on a horizontal beam that rests on simple supports; below the central motif two combatants face each other in fencing stances, each holding a sword with crossed blades, wearing period clothing including plumed hats and knee-length breeches, standing on small grassy mounds; between and below the fencers is a smaller decorative motif with mirrored animal-like figures atop it; small insect-like drawings appear near the upper sides of the page; the paper shows discoloration, spots, and faint smudges.
