In the left oval a seated bearded man wearing a cloak and simple garment is surrounded by armored soldiers and men in varied headgear; one soldier kneels before him while others stand, some grasping poles or spears, and one appears to press an object against the seated man’s head. The figures show textured clothing, armor, belts, and a sword visible at the lower edge, with cross-hatching shading and a background filled with vertical lines. In the right oval a nearly nude man with a cloak draped over one shoulder and a halo-like radiance behind his head stands on a raised platform beside two robed men, one wearing a turban and gesturing with his hand; below the platform a crowd of figures seen from behind and in profile look upward toward the platform. Architectural buildings and walls appear behind the standing group, and both ovals are framed by leafy floral decorations at the corners.
