The foreground contains coiled rope, a hat on the ground, scattered tools, and a soldier standing with a pole weapon and a small round canteen at his side. Behind the central scene there are trees and draped cloth, and several women in flowing robes display varied gestures and facial expressions as they look toward the reclining man, while other soldiers and a helmeted figure stand with spears in the background. The composition is enclosed by a thin rectangular border.
