Surrounding them are stylized foliage and small trees rendered with fine lines, and a dog stands near the carved structure looking downward toward some flowers. Below and to the side of the ornamentation are various animal heads and carcass-like forms, including a sheep and other hunting trophies, and a set of pipes and a horn lying among the carved curves. The composition emphasizes flowing curved lines, intricate hatching, and decorative vegetal motifs against a light paper background.
