The print is part of the book: AG Eckhardt, Beschryving van een algemeenen graphometer, 1778., printmaker: Jan Punt, Amsterdam, publisher: Jan Hendrik Munnikhuizen (possibly), The Hague, 1777 - 1778, paper, engraving, etching, etching and engraving, height 237 mm x width 383 mm, piece of sculpture, reproduction of a piece of sculpture, (story of) Venus (Aphrodite), A wide, light-toned sheet framed by a thin double border shows four studies of a reclining nude figure viewed from above, arranged horizontally across the middle; two left figures are rendered as outline sketches on angled rectangular planes with one of those planes filled solid dark, the two right figures show a dotted outline and a fully shaded drawing standing on a rectangular plinth with a long diagonal shadow, each figure has curled hair and an arm crossed over the chest, and the sheet has small spots and subtle paper texture.
