In the foreground there are grassy and sandy riverbanks with a stone bridge crossing a water channel and small figures walking and riding horses along paths. Small boats and a wooden pier sit on the river near the town, and hills with scattered trees rise behind the buildings. The sky above is filled with soft horizontal bands of pale blues, pinks, and creams, with large diffuse cloud shapes spreading across the upper area. The overall image has a hand-colored, printed appearance with delicate shading and fine line work.
