The publishers father and son Nicolas Langlois are both listed as N. Langlois at the same address., hospital, city-view, and landscape with man-made constructions, Hôpital de la Salpêtrière, A wide riverside scene rendered in fine monochrome lines shows a large classical building with a prominent central dome and flanking wings along the far bank, framed by a sky with layered clouds and small flying birds. In front of the building a road runs parallel to the water where horse-drawn carriages, mounted riders, and groups of walking figures move or stand. The river foreground is busy with various small boats and barges, some carrying barrels or bundled cargo, and several figures rowing or handling ropes and goods. Along the shoreline there are piles of material, scattered figures working, and a low retaining wall with openings. The overall image is detailed with architectural façades, rooflines, windows, and chimneys, and the water surface is rendered with fine horizontal strokes showing reflections and movement.
