Farm near Santpoort (original title), print, In the foreground several figures in a meadow. In the background trees with bare branches. In this second state of the print, the upper part of the plate has been cut off., printmaker: Wijnand Otto Jan Nieuwenkamp (signed by artist), 1899, 1911-07-19, paper, zinc etching, intaglio printmaking technique, etching with plate tone on zinc, height 92 mm x width 289 mm, farm or solitary house in landscape, A wide monochrome etching shows a riverside landscape with a textured sky filled with swirling clouds above a distant tree line and clusters of taller trees framing the scene; a small group of buildings and farm structures sit near the right bank among bare-branched trees, including a round tower-like structure and pitched roofs; the foreground presents rippled water with subtle reflections and scattered waterfowl near the center, while figures are visible at the water's edge: a person standing in shallow water toward the left, another figure near the right with two people farther right appearing to interact at the shore; trees of varying shapes and gnarled trunks rise on both sides, and the overall image is rendered in fine cross-hatched lines and stippling that create a moody, detailed texture.
