The bovine's head is thrown back, horns curved, and its mouth appears open while another bovine lies partly obscured nearby. Grasslike stalks and broken branches frame the right side and foreground, with textured ground beneath. The sky is rendered with soft, cloudlike washes above the detailed linework of the animals and vegetation.
